Health Impact Assessment of the Proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement

This report presents the findings of a health impact assessment (HIA) conducted in 2014 during the negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership
Agreement (TPP). The HIA assessed the potential impact of the TPP on the health of Australians.

The main body of the report summarises the findings of the HIA in four areas of potential impact:

  • The cost of medicines;
  • Tobacco control policies;
  • Alcohol control policies; and
  • Food labelling.

The report also includes a set of recommendations to the Australian Government developed by the advocacy organisations.
